Spray Tanning
With concerns over harmful rays from the sun affecting your skin, alternative methods of getting that beautiful tanned beach look found their way on the market.  Products such as bronzers, tanning pills and self-tanning lotions have made themselves a niche market, promoting themselves as being a safer way to wear a suntan.

Spray tanning is another method, which has seen a steady rise over the years as people visit specialist tanning salons to get their glow.  Developed further from that, were spray tans that could be used at home and applied on a cheaper basis as and when needed.  Spray tans also have the benefit of being easy to apply and are quick drying.

Some tips for applying a good spray tan:

The condition of the skin is all-important before applying any sunless tanning product.  If the majority of the product you apply is going straight onto dead cells, then it will not be long before your applied tan falls straight back off.  A good exfoliating session before you spray the tan will improve its endurance.

Applying a healthy dose of moisturizing cream will prime your skin for the application.  This will nourish the cream and make it more acceptable to the tanning lotion.

Because it is a temporary solution adhering to the surface of your skin, there is the possibility that the spray tan will stain clothes, especially under hotter weather.  It is something to be wary of, and looser clothes will help to combat any issues by keeping you cool.

Do not forget any areas when applying the bronzer!  The feet and the hands get dark fast because they are some of the driest spots on your body.  These extremities will not require as much of a covering as other parts of the body.

Do not forget to wipe yourself down after an application of spray tan.  This will help to remove any runs and drips, which may have accumulated, giving your tan a more even look.  Spray tans generally dry quicker than creams and lotions, so make sure you get them quick!

Do not rush the application of the spray tan.  You will want the covering to look as natural and even as possible.  Make sure enough time has been set aside to do the job properly.

As well as home self-tanning products, salons do offer a great service to get an even tan done very quickly.  Getting sprayed, which is like being blasted with an airbrush, lasts for less than a minute and as long as you follow the instructions before stepping in, it is a safe and efficient way to spray, dry and run!

Sunless tanning is safe and can make you look great.  If you are short of time, or do not live anywhere near a good beach, then it offers a great alternative to sun-worshipping to enhance your natural glow.
