Getting a Tan

What is the Best Beach in the World?

Anse Source D'Argent on La Digue - Republic of Seychelles

When you spend as much time thinking about getting a tan as we do, it's inevitable you plan your vacations around, what else, a beach.

Our choice for the best beach in the world is a safe one. No one who has ever vacationed on this island paradise would disagree. As a matter of fact, some think the Seychelles to be the location of the Garden of Eden, and it's home to Anse Source D'Argent, unarguably one of the most photographed and popular beaches in the world.

Anse Source D'argent Beach-Best Beach Vacation

Republic of Seychelles

This beach, and as a matter of fact the Seychelles is much better know to Europeans than it is to Americans. It's located to the northeast of Madagascar and east of Kenya. The number of islands in the archipelago is officially listed at 155.

An island nation, the Seychelles has a number of breath taking beaches, which all vie for the number one spot on this list, such as Beau Vallon in Northern Mahe and Anse Lazio in Praslin. Getting a tan on either of these island beaches would be heavenly.

However, the most beautiful of these beaches is the Anse Source D'Argent on the island of La Digue.

The Seychellois are a mix of people who have immigrated to these once deserted islands. The largest ethnic groups are those of French, African, Indian, and Chinese descent. The culture is matriarchy, which is unusual in this part of the world. Trust the French to find paradise on earth and then get women to run it.

Seychelles has a strict conservation policy in place, including restrictions on certain types of fishing. This means when you go scuba diving, the fish are not afraid of humans and will swim right along with you.

As far as Anse Source D'Argent is concerned, soft pink and tan sand, palm trees for shade and magnificent granite out juttings, make this our pick for the best beach in the world for getting a tan.
